Application Information

When your business has been suspended or forfeited, it is not in good standing and loses its rights, powers, and privileges to do business in California.
To revive your business and be in good standing, you must:
  • File all past-due tax returns.
  • Pay all past-due balances.
  • Submit a Certificate of Revivor Application.
To view this information and take action, log in or register for a MyFTB account. Once logged into MyFTB, visit your "Account Summary" and take the appropriate action to either file past-due tax returns or pay past-due balances.
If you do not have a MyFTB account, visit options for businesses to learn how to file and pay.
If you have a need for an expedited request, refer to the information under "revive at an office location" on My business is suspended to see if you qualify for a walk-through request.
Note: Only registered corporations or limited liability companies (LLC) can apply to revive their business.
If your corporation wishes to request or reinstate income tax exemption and revive, visit the charities and nonprofits page.
If you do not know your business entity type, you may do a Business Search on the California Secretary of State (SOS) website.
Select "Next" to begin the Certificate of Revivor Application.
